ADIDAS CONSORTIUM EQUIPMENT

To celebrate the occasion, adidas will be re-issuing OG versions of three fan-favorite models that represent the technologies and ideologies of EQUIPMENT, plus one new retro style, the EQUIPMENT Prototype.

A fresh addition to the EQUIPMENT range, the 2021 EQUIPMENT Prototype takes its inspiration from a 1993 racing sample. This never-before-seen silhouette finally sees the light of day after remaining under wraps for nearly three decades. Joining the EQUIPMENT Prototype are three foundational EQUIPMENT styles, the EQUIPMENT Running 93, EQUIPMENT CSG 91, and EQUIPMENT Race Walk.

The Running 93, CSG 91, Race Walk, and Prototype are all faithfully rendered in EQUIPMENT’s understated color palette of white, black, and grey, punctuated with the collection’s signature green hue. “Equipment is a no ‘bullshit ’word, you don’t have a piece of equipment to have fun with, you have a piece of equipment to make you better.” 

The adidas EQUIPMENT range first launched in 1990. Executive Robert Strasser and designer Peter Moore endeavoured to champion founder Adi Dassler’s core ethos of creating silhouettes that were simple, functional and performance-based. 

The adidas EQUIPMENT range was designed with a no-nonsense approach, focusing on four tenets. These tenets of protection, cushioning, stability and traction were represented by an all- new adidas EQUIPMENT logo, the “Badge of Sport.” The designer behind the adidas ZX.
